A little information about the instructors behind the business.

Paula Piercey
Autobiography

2000 Graduate of Georgia Southwestern University

Bachelor of Science in Education, Recreation.

My softball career began in 1983, as a recreation right-fielder with the slow pitch Rockdale Girls Softball Association located in Conyers, Georgia.  Through the years after hard work and dedication within the association my comfort zone became the positions of pitcher and second base.  In 1992 I embarked on a new journey of learning the tricks of fast pitch pitching.  This was a very difficult task, while at the same time I was pitching slow pitch for the Middle School, High School and a Travel Team.

I graduated from Heritage High School in 1996 and was recruited by LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia as a second baseman and a second string pitcher.  I worked hard and met my challenges head on and before the softball season started, I found myself as the starting pitcher.  Each pitch of every game made me stronger and stronger.  My accomplishments at the end of my freshman year at LaGrange were Outstanding Freshman, GAC Pitcher of the Year, Three-time GAC Pitcher of the week, All-Freshman Team, All-Conference Team and WTRP Radio All-Tournament Team.

My sophomore year found me pitching at Georgia Southwestern State University until graduation in 2000.   My accomplishments at GSWU were Two-time GACC Pitcher of the week, All-Region Team, All-Conference Team, All-American Team and GACC Pitcher of the Year.  After graduation I relocated to Leesburg, Georgia and began my career at the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department, where I also interned.

My passion for pitching remained well after graduation and I began the process of teaching pitching lessons in 2000.  I love to teach what I have learned throughout my pitching career, passing on all the knowledge I have to those eager to learn as I once did.  Please look over my list of students that have gone through my program.

Autobiography

I was born and raised in Lee County Georgia.  I have lived, breathed, and bled red and black all of my life.

 (GO DAWGS)

I have a very strong heart when it comes to the well being of upcoming athletes.  I work with the youth of Lee County on a semi-daily basis and love every minute of it.  I played High School Football in Lee County, and I have played softball with the Recreation Department.

My softball career began in 1995, as a first baseman with Thundering Springs Baptist Church located in Leesburg, Georgia.  Over the next ten years I played with several Men’s Softball Teams, league and tournament teams.

My Fast pitch teaching career began in the Summer of 2001.  I met Paula and began catching her just before she would begin her lessons.  After getting the correct feel of what it is like to catch a fast pitch pitcher, I began catching some of her students.  Being there everyday and listening to her teach the same drills, and mechanics to every pitcher, I began to learn.  I have learned that every student is different and that every student has their own way of learning.  Paula has her way of getting her students to understand more on their level, and I have learned that from her.

After feeling comfortable with knowing the main drills, proper foot placement, and snap, I began working with the students in between times when Paula would be standing behind them.  After about 6 months I began seeing the things that Paula was teaching and new right off what the pitcher was doing wrong or right.  It began to click.

Now, I am not saying that I can pitch, but I know the proper techniques and the dedication that it takes to be a pitcher.  Paula and I both feel comfortable with me being in control of the pitcher from the beginning of the lesson.  I am very outgoing and a dedicated teacher.  I am very involved in the lesson and the way that the student is performing.  I look forward to seeing you at the next lesson.
